CJA has established eight committees that are responsible for monitoring relevant issues, determining the appropriate courses of action and implementing them where necessary. These committees work closely with the Board to keep it informed and/or involved in all aspects of the committees’ endeavors.
- Continue to review and revise the existing AAP program with the intention of enhancing and increasing enforcement of the AAP

- Provide direction in regards to the Association’s charity efforts

- Monitor developments and issues affecting the diamond - natural and synthetic - and coloured stone sectors, and recommend appropriate position and/or course of action for the CJA
- Ensure the CJA’s position across all areas of Canada’s diamond pipeline is
transparent, neutral and preserve the integrity of the product and the Association - Identify possible breaches to CIBJO’s Blue Book, Gemstone Guidelines and
Canadian Diamond Code of Conduct - Preserve the integrity of diamonds and coloured stones by addressing consumer confidence issues that impact their presence in the Canadian marketplace.

- Develop standards of professional conduct
- Investigate and report on the creation of a compliance panel to review complaints against CJA members of non-adherence to the CJA Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct and decide course of action

- Ensure the stable, long-term funding of the CJA through the carrying out of Board policy:
(i) for the spending of interest from capital investments (ii) for the securing of the capital fund for the CJA’s future (iii) for involvement in CJA’s yearly financial auditing process

- Develop a strategic plan to market the CJA and its members to the public, with the objective of making the “CJA the brand that consumers demand”
- Promote the CJA to existing and prospective new members by way of advertising, marketing new member benefits, promotion of members’ products at international trade shows etc.
- Review all new and existing marketing material – e.g. CJA membership brochure to make this information more relevant and current
- Develop and maintain the CJA website and to consider ways of creating a revenue stream for the Association through this medium eg. sale of advertising space, sponsorships etc.

- Review existing membership criteria to ensure it is in lockstep with CJA objectives and the current Canadian jewellery industry
- Review existing membership fee structure and recommend yearly increases if
warranted - Develop targeted, executable and fiscally responsible programs to generate
membership growth for the CJA - Review membership statistics and provide correctable action to the Board on how to retrieve non-renewals
- Develop and review new membership benefits and services
- Review alleged unethical activity of CJA members and recommend course of
action to the Board, JVC or other appropriate jurisdiction

- The purpose and intent of the committee is to provide feedback and comments that will ultimately enable Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company and the insurance industry to better meet the needs of the jewelery industry.
