The CJA is the voice of the Canadian jewellery industry, providing leadership in ethics, education and communication. The CJA promotes consumer trust and we assist our members to follow best business practices. It is our vision to make the CJA the brand that consumers demand. It is also our goal to have the public recognize the CJA logo and tag line when visiting a Canadian jewellery store and associate it with a our 13-point Code of Ethics, integrity and honesty. It is our intention to always ensure that the Association is continuing to build trust, awareness, understanding and desirability for Canadian jewellery products. The CJA is will continue to focus our efforts on our five fundamental pillars: • Ethics and Social Responsibility • Education • Government and Industry Relations • Member Benefits • Communications The CJA 's foundation as a trade association is based on these five pillars, on which all initiatives, now and in the future, are based upon. Each of the pillars already has some key initiatives in place. It is important for the CJA to be constantly adapting and growing, based on daily challenges and advancements. The Association's numerous committees have been very effective in identifying key issues and developing resolutions for the industry as a whole. We will continue to be the voice of our industry when meeting and lobbying with all levels of domestic and international governments. We take pride in being a results-oriented trade association and will continue to focus on value-added programs for our members at large. Canada has emerged as the number three producer of diamonds in the world, and thus its role in the international jewellery industry has become more significant. The CJA will continue to promote and support the branding of Canadian Diamonds both domestically and on the international stage. The practical day-to-day benefits that we offer our members are continually being re-examined and when necessary, enhanced. All matters of concern or of interest are communicated promptly to members through the use of our monthly e-Newsletters and instant e-News blasts. Members are continually connected and are aware of the latest happenings within our industry. Since its launch in October 2007, the CJA’s website has become a valuable resource for consumers, members, industry representatives, government officials and media. With a major re-design planned for the fall of 2012, our communication initiatives to these stakeholders will be vastly enhanced. Because of our multi-type jewellery member make-up, CJA takes pride in being the umbrella organization for the industry and being the central voice for issues relating to our industry.
